Intelligent & Versatile Operating Principle

The most unique feature of the Sormac FW fruit washer is its ability to simultaneously process both floating and sinking products.

For floating products (such as apples, melons, etc.): Fruit floating on the surface is sequentially pushed away by a water flow combined with a compartmentalized paddle system. This paddle system is driven by two plastic chains running along the machine body, allowing for precise control of the material’s storage time in the tank. The operator can customize the soaking time from 1.5 to 5 minutes, or remove the paddles if a continuous free flow is needed.

For sinking products: Sormac equips the machine with a modular conveyor belt located near the bottom of the tank. This conveyor belt will actively collect and transport submerged fruits towards the outfeed elevator at the end of the machine.

Air Agitation System

To support the standard washing process, the machine incorporates a special aeration system at the bottom of the tank. Continuously pumped air bubbles create gentle turbulence in the water flow, helping to dislodge sand, dirt, pesticide residue, and impurities adhering to the fruit’s skin without crushing or scratching the surface.

Maximum Water Recirculation and Savings

After washing, the water is collected in a separate storage tank. Here, a high-pressure pump system, in conjunction with a vibrating/sieve filter screen, separates all impurities, retaining clean water before recirculating it back to the main washing chamber. This mechanism helps businesses save water consumption significantly.

Hygienic Design

The entire Sormac FW machine body is constructed from high-grade ($100% Stainless Steel) precisely laser-cut, with smooth welds to prevent bacterial buildup. The open machine structure makes rinsing, cleaning, and maintenance after each shift extremely simple and quick.
